​HANNFRIED LUCKE

​Hannfried Lucke was born in Freiburg im Breisgau. He received his musical education at the State University of Music in Freiburg, the Mozarteum Salzburg, and the Conservatory of Music in Geneva. He was a scholarship recipient of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and was awarded the Premier Prix at the Conservatory of Music in Geneva, as well as the Austrian Federal Ministry of Arts and Culture Prize.

Concerts and radio recordings have taken him to most European countries, the USA, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, and Australia. He has performed on renowned organs and at major festivals, including the Vienna Festival, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, London’s Royal Festival Hall, New York’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Carmel Bach Festival, the Tanglewood Music Festival, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, and the Kyoto Concert Hall.

His numerous CD recordings on labels such as Thorofon, Mitra, Carus, and Coviello Classics have received multiple international awards.

​​In 1997, he was appointed Professor of Organ at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. In 2000, he accepted the chair at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. From 2016 to 2017, he additionally held a visiting professorship at the University of Music Freiburg. In 2018, he was named Vice-Rector for Art at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.
He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg.
Hannfried Lucke regularly gives masterclasses in Europe, the USA, and Japan, and serves as a jury member for international organ competitions.
